Happy Saint Patrick’s Day from Warehouse Supplies Online! We hope you enjoy your festivities this weekend and don’t find yourself getting pinched! In this blog we will explore the bottoms of our plastic pallet Molds! When choosing a pallet base, It is important to know if the plastic pallet will be moved with forklifts, hand jacks, conveyors or any other types of material handling equipment. Also, are you double stacking your pallet? If you are double stacking on top of an uneven or sensitive load, a full perimeter base or 3-runner pallet is recommended. If not, you may be able to use less expensive 9-Leg nestable plastic pallets. Nestable pallets have no runners and are important when you want to save on shipping cost and storage space, and are typically used for lighter-weight evenly distributed loads. These pallets do not normally carry more than small ormedium-sized loads of up to 3000 lbs.  They are light, space-saving, and reliable.  Stackable pallets, however, usually have a full perimeter base or 3 or 4 runners and are used for heavier loads or double stacking.  They are also used with roller tracks and with conveyor systems. Pallets with three lengthwise runners are stackable and compatible with automated conveyor and high-racking systems. The runners may be reinforced by metal to provide for the storage of particularly heavy loads. The perimetric bottom decks without a central transverse runner (5 runners) allow for better four-way entry and offer excellent block stackability. Plastic pallets with a fully perimetric bottom support (6 runners, cruciform perimeter-base) meet the highest demands in terms of block stacking. Their large supporting surface protects and avoids pressure marks on the cargo stored below and also ensures long-term stability for the plastic pallet. Whatever your pallet needs are, we are here to supply them!
